🚨 You need to know
Get ready for some road work, Alexandria! The city’s Department of Transportation and Environmental Services has just released its street repaving and maintenance schedule for the week of May 12-16.
Here’s what’s on the agenda:
– Several streets are getting a fresh coat of asphalt, including Boyle Street, Newton Street, West Windsor Avenue, Fern Street, East Marsteller Street, and Oronoco Street. If you live or work in these areas, keep an eye out for project signs and letters with more details.
– Don’t forget about those “No Parking” signs! They’ll be popping up before work starts, so make sure to move your car to avoid tickets or towing.
– The city’s also tackling some concrete work. Expect to see improvements to ADA ramps, curbs, and gutters at the intersection of South Van Dorn Street and Eisenhower Avenue, as well as on North Armistead Street.
– New aprons are coming to several spots, including the 300 block of Lamond Place, 900 block of Juniper Place, 0 block of East Howell Avenue, and 2500 block of Ridge Road.

Just a heads up: This schedule isn’t set in stone. Weather, equipment issues, or conflicts with other city projects might shake things up a bit.
Looking ahead, concrete work on Duke Street from Roth Avenue to Wheeler Avenue is set to kick off on May 19. This is laying the groundwork for future repaving, so expect some lane closures and delays.
