City seeks public input on Seminary West Safety Improvements Project

Alexandria is asking residents to weigh in on plans to make Seminary Road safer.

The city is looking at ways to improve safety for everyone using the stretch between George Mason Drive and North Beauregard Street. Alexandria’s Vision Zero Program has flagged this area as a high-crash zone.

“The City of Alexandria seeks community feedback on design options for the Seminary West Safety Improvements Project. The purpose of this project is to enhance safety for people of all ages, abilities, and travel modes along Seminary Road between George Mason Drive and North Beauregard Street,” the city said in a press release on Monday (April 28).

The project team has developed design options based on traffic patterns, safety data, and previous community feedback.
