The City of Alexandria is seeking volunteers and participants for its Earth Month Fix-It Clinic on Monday, April 28.

This event, organized by the city’s Resource Recovery Division and the Alexandria Library, will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Beatley Central Library and aims to show people how to repair and reuse household items instead of throwing them away.

The city is looking for “Fix-It Coaches” who know their way around sewing, basic electronics repair, and watch and jewelry fixes. These coaches will team up with attendees to troubleshoot and repair broken items.

If you’re an Alexandria resident interested in giving your old stuff new life, this event is for you. You’ll get to learn from our volunteer coaches and Resource Recovery staff about why fixing things can be better than replacing them.

This Fix-It Clinic is just one part of Alexandria’s Earth Month activities.
