Notes: Alexandria’s Recreation Department rolls out fresh summer camp lineup for 2025

🌧️ Today’s weather: Expect rain mainly before 11 a.m. and patchy fog between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m., with cloudy conditions and a high near 51 degrees. A 6-8 mph northeast wind accompanies a 60% chance of precipitation, with new amounts ranging from a tenth to a quarter of an inch. On Monday night, there’s a slight chance of showers before 2 a.m., with clouds gradually clearing to partly cloudy and a low around 35 degrees. Light west wind will shift to northwest at 9-14 mph in the evening, gusting up to 21 mph, and a 20% chance of precipitation.

It will be sunny on Tuesday, with a high near 49 degrees—northwest wind 14 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph.

New 2025 Summer Camp Programs (via City of Alexandria)

Alexandria’s Department of Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Activities (RPCA) is gearing up for an exciting summer with brand-new camp programs in 2025.

“This year, the City of Alexandria’s Department of Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Activities is introducing an array of brand-new summer camp programs designed to engage and inspire your children and teens. From Swim Team Camp Prep and Bounce-Boom Pickleball Camp to Art Box Lego Mania Camp, there’s something fresh and exciting for everyone in your family,” RPCA shared in an announcement.

Want to secure a spot? Registration is now open. You can sign up online or drop by the Lee Center Registration & Reservation Office at 1108 Jefferson St. For all the details on available camps and to get your kids signed up, head over to alexandriava.gov/rpca/camps.

The 3rd Annual Del Ray Dog Fest on Sunday was off the chain, in a good way. Hundreds of pooches and their people attended the event, which featured a fashion show, playgrounds for pups, live music, and 65 vendors.
