Notes: Alexandria youth invited to ‘Speak Up’ at upcoming community forum

Middle and high school students in Alexandria have a chance to speak up about issues that matter to them at an upcoming community event.

Alexandria Youth Speak Up” is happening on April 10, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Patrick Henry Recreation Center.

The event brings together young people and adults to talk about topics affecting Alexandria’s youth and brainstorm possible solutions.

“We want to hear from you!” say the organizers. They’re inviting all middle and high school students and their families to join in on youth-led discussions about issues impacting young people in Alexandria.

Several local groups are hosting this free event, including the Children Youth and Families Collaborative Commission, the Alexandria Campaign on Adolescent Pregnancy, the Alexandria Sexual Assault Center, and the Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition of Alexandria.

Dinner is included for those who attend, but you need to sign up first. If you’re interested, you can find more information and register online through the city’s website.
