ABC 7News reported that a florist in Old Town is offering free flowers to employees furloughed in the recent mass government layoffs.

A sign in the window at Petal’s Edge Floral Design (1105 Oronoco Street) offers “Flowers for Feds” for displaced federal employees, telling them to “come in for a pick me up.”

“Any of us that have ever lost a job know what people must be going through,” owner Gerry Rogers told 7News.

Rogers was a federal worker laid off in 1995 and said that the federal workers being affected are friends and neighbors.
