Pizzeria Paradiso making Alexandria comeback with pop-up in a local bar

Pizzeria Paradiso said ‘arrivederci‘ to Alexandria in 2020 — but that phrase means “until we meet again” and it could be fulfilled starting next month.

Pizzeria Paradiso announced that it will be returning as an “ongoing pizza pop up” in Hank’s Oyster Bar (818 N. St. Asaph Street) in Old Town North every Thursday-Sunday, starting March 13.

The release said the pop-up is the “first step” of the restaurant’s return.

“The ongoing pizza pop up is a collaboration between Chefs Ruth Gresser of Pizzeria Paradiso, and Jamie Leeds of Hank’s Oyster Bar, longtime friends and two of DC’s OG and most successful female restaurateurs,” the release said. “It’s also the first step in PP’s return to the area after its pandemic closure.”

The restaurant will celebrate with free pizza for the first 100 guests on International Women’s Day (Saturday, March 8) between noon and 2 p.m. The first 100 guests will receive a free mozzarella and tomato pizza.

According to the release, the pop-up will offer pickup and delivery only (no dine-in) at the new pop-up.
