Cute kitty Tigger has found his “forever home” and has the unique distinction of being the 1,000th cat adopted via Old Town’s Mount Purrnon Cat Cafe and Wine Bar (109 S. Alfred Street), Alexandria Living Magazine reported.

The cafe posted on social media that the cat marks a milestone for the cafe that started back in 2020.

“When we started in 2020, I thought we may not make it a year,” the business wrote on Facebook. “I thought if we found homes for the original 15, it would be a success story. Somehow, now it is 4.5 years later and we have adopted out 1000 cats!”

Mount Purrnon brings in cats from around the world, including one new cat from Kuwait. The cafe offers one-hour sessions in the cafe for $25 for adults on the weekend or $22 during a weekday. Day passes are $50 and monthly passes are $100. The proceeds go toward housing and care for the cats.

According to the cafe:

We can’t thank our adopters enough for giving these bebes a second chance. We have seen a lot of heartbreak and heard sad stories, but seeing them go home makes everything worth it.
Thank you everyone who has come in, donated, sent supplies, bought a t-shirt, or just sent a kind word. We wouldn’t be here without you.
