Earlier this week, the Alexandria Police Department arrested a man on an outstanding warrant from Arlington after he allegedly brandished a weapon at the King Street Metro station.

On Wednesday around 5 p.m., scanner traffic noted reports came in that a man had pulled out a gun at the station, though later review of video footage found that he had pulled out a knife.

Tracy Walker, communications manager for the Alexandria Police Department, said there was an outstanding warrant for the man’s arrest in Arlington.

According to Walker:

On January 15, 2025, at approximately 5 p.m. APD Officers responded to a call for service in the area of Duke and Delaney Streets for the report of a man brandishing a weapon leaving the King Street Metro Station. He was taken into custody and arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Arlington County Sheriff’s Office. Charges are pending for brandishing in Alexandria.
