Need a room? Prices at Alexandria Airbnbs are skyrocketing during inauguration weekend.

The inauguration of Donald Trump as president will take place at the U.S. Capitol — just a few miles down the Potomac River from Alexandria.

Hotels are starting to sell out.

Hampton Inn & Suites Old Town and Hilton Alexandria Old Town are both sold out from Saturday, Jan. 18 to Inauguration Day on Monday, Jan. 20.

The replica of George Washington’s townhouse in Old Town, however, is available for $1,700 per night.

Earlier in January, the price is listed for $233 per night.

That’s a steal compared to the $7,900 per night in a 377-square-foot one-bedroom, one-bathroom hotel-style room near the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

It would cost more than $17,400 to stay in the room from Jan. 18 to 20. It is otherwise available earlier in January for $364 per night.

Below are Airbnb locations renting for $7,900 from Jan. 18 to Jan. 20.

  • A 200-square-foot one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment near the Friendship Firehouse in Old Town ($610 per night earlier in January)
  • One bedroom, one bathroom apartment on Alexandria’s waterfront ($357 per night earlier in January)
  • A one-bedroom, one bathroom apartment near the King Street Metro station ($424 per night earlier in January)
  • A one-bedroom, one bathroom apartment in Old Town North ($412 per night earlier in January)

A four-bedroom, three-bathroom house in Old Town can be rented for $752 in early January, but the price will go up to more than $4,000 during inauguration weekend.

In the meantime, Visit Alexandria is advertising the city as a home base for visitors.

“Make Alexandria your home base for the momentous events,” the city’s tourism bureau said. “(D)iscover the city’s presidential connections and immerse yourself in Alexandria’s rich history with a visit to historic sitesdiscounted admission to George Washington’s Mount Vernon and more.”
