While it’s Black Friday across much of the rest of the United States, Alexandria and some other localities have their own local celebration: Plaid Friday.
Plaid Friday celebrates the local rather than big box stores and malls. The event started in Oakland but has been embraced whole heartedly in Alexandria, particularly in Old Town.
