Longtime Subway restaurant closes in Arlandria

The Subway restaurant at 3829 Mount Vernon Avenue closed on Nov. 19.

The business has been in the Del Ray North shopping center for decades. The owner of the Arlandria franchise said that paying rent was becoming increasingly difficult and that he was forced to shut down.

This note was left on the front door:

STORE CLOSING

After 20 incredible years, it is with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of our restaurant. We want to sincerely thank you for your support and loyalty throughout the years. Official closing date is November 19th, 2024.
