French restaurant in Old Town being replaced with Midwest breakfast/brunch chain

BRABO Brasserie at 1600 King Street is getting replaced with a new location from the Midwest breakfast/brunch restaurant chain HomeGrown: A Daytime Eatery.

The restaurant is located inside the Archer Hotel Old Town Alexandria, which took over the space from Lorien Hotel and Spa earlier this year.

HomeGrown has locations around Kansas, Iowa and Arkansas. It features a variety of breakfast foods like French toast and omelets, as well as lunch options like sandwiches and salads.

The HomeGrown website describes the restaurant as “a breakfast, brunch & lunch eatery featuring locally-sourced dishes. We serve cage-free eggs, homemade pastries, fresh-squeezed Orange Juice, Mimosas, Bloody Marys and more.”

The application to change ownership also said the new HomeGrown Kitchen hopes to include outdoor speakers to play music at the restaurant.
