Poll: How do you feel about the future after Election Day?

Borrowing a page from our sister site FFXnow we’re wondering: how are Alexandrians feeling after last night’s election.

As was expected, Alexandria’s City Council remained entirely blue with the Democratic slate taking all seats against challenges from two Independents and one Republican candidate. Running without any opposition, Alyia Gaskins was also elected Alexandria’s first Black female mayor.

In the state elections, Virginia stayed blue as well, with Tim Kaine defeating Hung Cao in the Senate race and incumbent Democrat Don Beyer defeating Republican Jerry Torres — despite some shady antics at the polls.

Democratic candidate Kamala Harris also won Virginia, but lost the national election to Republican Donald Trump.

With voting over, how are you feeling about the outcome of this year’s presidential election? Are you more optimistic or pessimistic about the future than you were yesterday? Are you happy with the national results but upset about the local races or vice versa?
