Medics responded to Alexandria City High School Tuesday morning after fight left teen with jaw injury

Medics were called to Alexandria City High School this morning after a fight left a student with an injured jaw.

According to the scanner, a 15-year-old was injured in an assault. A School Resource Officer called it in and told medics the student was suffering from jaw pain.

“at approximately 8:58 a.m. today, school staff called Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to the King Street Campus for a student who experienced a medical emergency due to an altercation with another student,” Principal Alexander Duncan said in a message to students. “Several students were present during this medical emergency. Given that students witnessed this event, we wanted to share this information with you in case your child talks about this incident and you determine that they need support.”

Duncan said students can talk to a counselor or trusted adult at any time or can reach out to a crisis line by texting CONNECT to 85511 or calling 703-527-4077.

“We are grateful for the rapid response of our staff and emergency medical services,” Duncan said. “The safety and well-being of our students and staff are of utmost priority for Alexandria City Public Schools.”
