
The Alexandria Police Department (APD) is seeking help from anyone who might have information on a very young girl who was seen alone early this morning (Monday) near the Brookville neighborhood.
APD conducted a search of the area around the 900 block of N. Van Dorn Street but said no investigation is currently ongoing.
“Early this morning, at approximately 2 a.m., APD officers responded to the 900 block of N. Van Dorn where a tow truck driver encountered a young girl, possibly 8-10 years old, sitting alone in a parking lot,” APD Communications Manager Tracy Walker said. “The driver immediately contacted the police, and the girl fled.”
Walker said the girl was described as wearing a purple sweat suit and carrying a backpack.
“A search was conducted overnight,” Walker said. “There have been no reports of a missing girl fitting this description. If you have any information regarding this incident, please call the APD non-emergency number 703-746-4444.”
There is police presence in 930 block of N Van Dorn as officers conduct a search for a young girl, 8-10 years old, who was seen sitting alone in a parking lot. One northbound lane of N Van Dorn is closed at Taney.
