Alexandria’s popular Tons of Trucks event is returning next month to Chinquapin Park (3210 King Street).

The annual event brings all of the big city vehicles out to the park for attendees to see and explore. Tickets were previously $5 per person, but this year the event is free.

“Attendees of all ages are invited to explore and get behind the wheel of their favorite City vehicles, meet the staff who help build, maintain, serve, and protect the community, and learn about the vehicles they use,” the release said. “Other activities include an art project with the City’s Mobile Art Lab, giveaways, photo opportunities, and food truck vendors.”

The event is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 21, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Chinquapin Park.
