Alexandria Living Magazine reported that the Van Dorn Street Red Lobster may close after all.
While the local franchise survived an earlier round of closures, Alexandria Living Magazine reported that the location at 555 S. Van Dorn Street was on the chopping block according to new bankruptcy court filings.
There were a variety of factors that led to the collapse of Red Lobster, though none as comical and catchy as the millions in damage caused by a “$20 endless shrimp” promotion. In general, though, The Independent said Red Lobster fell prey to a market shifting more toward grab-and-go dining or full dinner restaurants, with the middle-ground chains like Red Lobster falling by the wayside.
