APD says man who died in hospital parking lot was shot in D.C.

The Alexandria Police Department says that the man who died of a gunshot wound early Wednesday morning in the Inova Alexandria Hospital parking lot was shot in D.C. and has turned the investigation over to the Metropolitan Police Department.

APD also canceled the “be-on-the-lookout” alert for the dark gray four-door Mercedes that dropped off the victim at around 2 a.m. in the parking lot of Inova Alexandria Hospital (4320 Seminary Road). He was found suffering outside the hospital entrance at around 3 a.m. and died while being treated by hospital staff.

“The incident appears to be related to the shooting incident that occurred at 88 K Street southeast in Washington, D.C.,” APD said in a release.
