Major stretches of two arterial roads in Alexandria will see repaving work this week.

The Department of Transportation and Environmental Services (T&ES) said in a release that North Quaker Lane and King Street will both be seeing repaving work this week, from today, June 3, through Friday, June 7.

King Street is being repaved from Daingerfield Road near the King Street Metro station up to Janney’s Lane near Rosemont, around the King-Callahan-Russell intersection project.

North Quaker Lane, meanwhile, is being repaved from Duke Street to West Braddock Road.

The city also noted that Callahan Drive, which runs between King Street and Duke Street in front of the George Washington Masonic Memorial, is being repaved as well.

“Businesses and residents whose streets are scheduled for repaving receive advance notice – typically by displayed project signs and/or letters,” T&ES wrote. “Temporary ‘No Parking’ signs will also be posted before work begins. Please be sure to observe these signs to avoid tickets and potential towing of vehicles.”
