Fairfax Connector services are still suspended today (Friday) due to an ongoing strike.

Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 689, which represents roughly 638 bus operators and mechanics for the bus service, initiated the strike early Thursday morning and told 7News that the strike will likely impact Monday commutes as well.

The dispute is between the union and Transdev, a public transportation company, over labor issues like retirement security, sick days, and competitive wages for bus operators and mechanics.

FFXnow noted that connector workers last negotiated a contract in 2019 and went on strike for four days before signing a new agreement.
