Regional chain Pupatella Pizza is carving out a slice in Old Town North, Zebra first reported.
The chain focuses on Neapolitan pizza with tomatoes and mozzarella cheese, describing it as “the real thing” on their menu. Zebra reported the new location is opening at 700 Slaters Lane, formerly the location of Sam’s Custom Cleaners.
In a poll last October, a plurality of ALXnow readers said there is not enough good pizza in Alexandria. At the same time, the glut of pizza places coming into Alexandria has become something of a running joke in the city. It was even referenced multiple times in a City Council discussion on the Duke Street transitway.
