A Prince William County man faces malicious wounding charges after an afternoon fight in the West End.
On Monday, Oct. 10, at around 2:15 p.m., the Alexandria Police Department was dispatched to a fight around the unit block of N. Jordan Street — near the Shoppes At Foxchase.
Officers were shown video by witnesses of a man standing over another man and beating him with one fist while also holding a firearm, according to a search warrant affidavit.
The suspect, 29-year-old Javon Moore, was found nearby by police and was arrested without incident.
The victim told police that the fight started over a financial debt, and that Moore refused to pay and took out a gun and pistol-whipped him. Moore, in turn, told police that he wrestled the gun away from the victim.
No firearm was ever found and Moore was charged with malicious wounding.
Moore was released from the Alexandria jail on Oct. 13 on a $2,500 unsecured bond and goes to court on Dec. 19.
