Barricade situation in Landmark area ends in arrest

A 33-year-old Alexandria man was arrested Saturday afternoon (August 14) after a barricade situation in a Landmark area apartment.

Alhaji Kamara was arrested for threatening law enforcement, and is being held on an emergency custody order at Inova Alexandria Hospital, according to Alexandria Police.

“Officers engaged the subject… in a conversation until a threat to harm police and other building residents was made around 9:00 a.m.,” police said in a release. “At 12:04 p.m., additional resources were brought in to assist with the incident.”

Kamara surrendered to police at around 3:30 p.m. and the apartment building was reopened to the public at 4 p.m.
