Hermitage Northern Virginia Resident Tests Positive for COVID-19 — “Because of the precautions already in place, we are hopeful that the potential spread of the virus is limited, but we must continue to practice self-isolation, good hand washing, and the use of appropriate PPE. Alexandria Unemployment Claims Spike in March

The number of unemployment claims in Alexandria climbed dramatically in the second half of March, as thousands of city residents lost their jobs over the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Alexandria Workforce Development Center is reporting that there were 33 unemployment claims on March 14. That number rose to 797 jobless claims a week later on March 21, and then more than doubled to 1,683 claims a week after that on March 28.

These Alexandria Pizza Joints are Hiring Delivery Drivers

The COVID-19 pandemic has put thousands out of work around the city, but it’s also meant a surge in business for pizza delivery businesses that now need drivers.

Toppers Pizza is currently looking for 10 new delivery drivers to work $4.25 an hour plus $2 per delivery and tips. Like their competitors, Toppers is also offering contact-less service.
