Join the City of Alexandria and Arlington County’s Initiative to Rethink Energy at our first ever electric vehicle (EV) and sustainable technologies showcase! Get inspired by seeing a variety of electric cars, scooters, bikes, motorcycles, police cars, buses, trucks and information on other alternative fuel technologies.

• Come test drive an electric vehicle!
• Attend panelist sessions and participate in Q&A
• Learn about EVs and charging technologies from industry professionals
• See and test out a variety of electric bikes and scooters!
• Hear first-hand EV ownership experiences from local residents

Come ready to engage and learn about electric vehicle technology at this family friendly event! Games and learning opportunities will be available for children.
Think BIG is free and open to the public.

This is event is free and open to the public. Event registration is optional but recommended, registration to test drive an electric vehicle is required.

Taste unlimited samples from Virginia wineries after hours at George Washington’s estate.

Bring a blanket and relax on the East Lawn overlooking the Potomac River. Sample wines from Virginia wineries. Meet George & Lady Washington.

The Shops at Mount Vernon and Wine Valet Service are open until 8:45 p.m. The first floor, second floor, and cellar of the Mansion will be open until 8:30 p.m.

Family Hearth Cooking Workshop

Is there a kid in your life who likes to cook? Give the gift of cooking in a fireplace! Gunston Hall is excited to welcome kid and adult duos for a two-and-a-half-hour workshop in our hearth kitchen.  This program is perfect for young people ages 8-16 with an adult for the ultimate hands-on experience with history.

During the program, each team will make gingerbread, strawberry jam, and whipped cream from historic recipes.  Each team will have a chance to taste the results at Gunston Hall and take home any leftovers.

The program fee includes all supplies and materials, as well as a kid-focused tour of the historic house.
