A dozen Alexandria companies land on Inc. 5000 fastest-growing company list in 2026

Alexandria is still making a showing on the Inc. 5000 fastest-growing companies list, but none of the companies are appearing near the top of the ranking.

Inc. came out with its annual ranking of America’s fastest-growing companies Tuesday (Aug. 11). A dozen Alexandria companies — seven in the city and five with addresses in Fairfax County — made the cut in 2026.

The highest-ranking Alexandria business on the 2026 list was telecommunications company Sparkplug IP, with a 449% growth rate. Several of the companies ranked last year made reappearances in 2026 — Logistics Systems, MovementX, Bent Ear Solutions, BRG Communications, TEAL and Mayvin.

Last year, 19 local firms made the Inc. 5000 list. Leading the pack in Alexandria was service-disabled, veteran-owned consulting firm Artemis ARC, ranked at No. 34 with 6,648% three-year revenue growth. The firm did not make the latest list.

One notable new appearance in 2026 was Donorbox, a nonprofit fundraising platform that moved its headquarters from San Francisco to Belle Haven. The company saw a 105% increase in revenue over three years and ranked 2,950th.

The top-ranked company in Virginia was Fredericksburg consultant Advanced Armor Research Group at No. 17, with a 10,223% three-year growth rate.

Across the U.S., companies on the Inc. 5000 collectively have $385.1 billion in revenue and include 759 newly founded businesses. The Inc. 5000 list ranks companies by their percentage revenue growth over three years, with a minimum revenue of $100,000 in 2022 and $2 million in 2025.

Eligible companies are for-profit, privately held, independent and based in the U.S. as of the end of 2025. Companies may be left off future lists if they go public or become a subsidiary or division of another company.

“Every company on the Inc. 5000 has a story of perseverance, smart decision making, and a refusal to sit still,” Inc. editor-in-chief Mike Hofman said in a release. “Their growth reflects more than strong financial performance–it reflects creativity, resilience, and the customer focus required to build companies that make a lasting impact.”
