Red Barn Mercantile, located at 1117 King Street in Alexandria, is partnering with Two Men and a Truck to collect gently used homecoming and wedding guest dresses and shoes through the end of August.
The initiative aims to help young adults who may not be able to afford clothing for special events by creating a free boutique in a warehouse where they can shop for formal wear.
“Their goal is to make it easy and affordable for everyone to find something fabulous to wear,” according to the store’s announcement to subscribers.
For the next two weeks, Red Barn Mercantile will be working with Two Men and a Truck as a collection site for any and all gently used homecoming and wedding guest dresses and shoes! The organization will be setting up a free boutique in a warehouse where young adults who may not be able to afford clothing for special events can shop. Their goal is to make it easy and affordable for everyone to find something fabulous to wear. Red Barn Mercantile will be collecting donations through the end of August.
Red Barn Mercantile is accepting donations during regular business hours: Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
