Cana Café eyes December opening in former Old Town Starbucks location

A new café is looking to open in a highly visible part of Old Town in December.

Cana Café announced on Instagram last month that it will open at the corner of King and S. Union Streets (100 S. Union Street) in the former longtime home of a Starbucks, which closed last year.

“Look for our future home in the street-level stone storefront at 100 S Union Street,” the café said in the post. “We’re planning to open in December 2026, subject to construction completion, and we’ll share the date and hours when they’re confirmed.”

Last month, café owner Jn25 LLC published a legal notice advertising its Virginia ABC license application to sell beer, wine and mixed beverages.

The company website doesn’t include a menu but invites customers to “gather with kith and kin over coffee and pastries, and settle in for the everyday moments that bring us together.”
