A grand opening for the U.S. debut of South Korean café Twosome Place is set for this weekend in Old Town.
The grand opening will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17 at 404 King Street. Guests will enjoy free coffee and cake samples from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., a gashapon capsule giveaway with prizes and surprises from 10 a.m. to noon, and more. The first 100 guests in line will receive a free tote bag.
“Stop by throughout opening weekend for more special goodies and plenty of Twosome,” the business said on Facebook.
The South Korean chain is known for its specialty coffee, handcrafted cakes and other Korean-inspired drinks and food. Its signature Strawberry Chocolate Cream Cake is the only trademark-registered cake in South Korea. A few of the Korean-inspired drink options include the Dalgona Cream Top, Black Sesame Latte and Misugaru Frappe, and all-day food highlights are the K-Toast with Bulgogi and Egg, K-Chicken Panini and Bibimbowl.
Twosome Place was founded in 2002 and has more than 1,700 cafes in South Korea. D.C. investment firm The Carlyle Group acquired the chain in 2021 and announced last November that it would start opening company-owned locations in the U.S. this year.
