UPDATED: Two suspects in custody after Alexandria shooting leaves one injured

Two people are in custody after a Sunday morning (Oct. 4) shooting in Alexandria, according to police.

The shooting happened in the 100 block of Ellsworth Street, which is in the Taylor Run neighborhood next to the Alexandria Commons shopping center. According to the scanner traffic around 8:39 a.m., multiple 911 callers reported they heard multiple gunshots and screaming.

The Alexandria Police Department said the victim has a non-life-threatening injury. According to the police scanner, APD was informed the gunshot victim had arrived at the hospital.

Two suspects are in custody. Scanner traffic indicated officers tracked down the driver and a passenger of a U-Haul.

APD recovered a firearm and video footage of the shooting area, according to the scanner.
