Numerous restaurants and sports bars in Alexandria are gearing up for March Madness this week, with plans to offer specials on drinks and bites while the games play on.
Fans will get to see how their March Madness brackets fare when the NCAA men’s tournament’s first round begins Thursday (March 19) and women’s tournament follows on Friday (March 20). Games run until the final championship games on April 5 (women) and April 6 (men).
As establishments offer deals ranging from beers and shots to barbecue, here are some local spots to try out in Alexandria while watching this month’s games.
Aslin Beer Company
Happy hour specials are available from 3-6 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and promotional March Madness deals are being planned from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The brewery’s Tysons location is also planning a Brackets and Brews watch party event at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Augie’s Mussel House and Beer Garden
Drink specials during March Madness include an $11 Corazon Tequila shot and Narragansett draft beer combo, a 1792 old fashioned for $12 and shots of Fireball or Svedka for $6. The beer garden is also offering $15 cheese fries, $14 wings, $14 fried mozzarella and “Josh’s Bangin Burger” for $16.

Bugsy’s Pizza Restaurant and Sports Bar
Bugsy’s plans to show the games alongside its beer bucket specials, with five domestic brews for $20 or imported for $30. Happy hour deals on drinks and appetizers is 4-7 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Cooper Mill
The waterfront restaurant will be showing all of the March Madness games, including sound for the more heavily contested matchups. Happy hour deals, available from 3-7 p.m. Monday through Friday, include $5 Pabst Blue Ribbon, $10 spritzes, $4 pizza slices and $10 meatball garlic knot sliders.
10 Duke Street
Del Ray Public House
The restaurant and draft house has plans to stream March Madness, with specials currently being finalized. Happy hour from 4-6 p.m. includes $2 off draft beers, wine and cocktails, in addition to $2 off wings, nachos, fried pickles and pizza rolls.

Don Taco
Don Taco has plans to stream March Madness across multiple televisions, alongside its regular happy hour specials from 3-7 p.m., Monday through Friday. Deals include $7.95 chips and guacamole, $8.95 chicken wings, $3 off margaritas and $2 off draft beers.

Hops N Shine
Games will be screened on customer request. Happy hour offers include half priced wings, $5 house beers and green tea shots, and $6 Grey Goose drinks from 2-6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Joe Theismann’s Restaurant
The restaurant is inviting guests to come watch the games and participate in two bracket competitions. Customers can submit brackets for the NCAA tournament for the chance to win prizes, in addition to the “Theismann’s menu championship,” where customers can vote for their favorite menu items.

Northside 10
Northside 10 has plans to host a Brackets & BBQ event this Saturday, in addition to screening games throughout March Madness. Happy hours deals will be available during the games, including $4 mini nachos, $5 mini quesadillas, two fried green tomato sliders for $6, and two buffalo oyster sliders for $8.

Pork Barrel BBQ
During March Madness, the Del Ray barbecue restaurant and bar is offering a $5 deal on all draft brews and shots or drinks made with Tito’s vodka or Jack Daniel’s. The restaurant will also offer half-priced deals on pulled pork or chicken sandwiches, jumbo Bavarian pretzels and “nachositos.”

Shooter McGee’s
The bar and restaurant has plans to show the games, with March Madness deals still being finalized. Weekly dine-in deals include half-price burgers on Mondays, 10 wings for $10 on Tuesdays and $1.50-per-ounce prime rib with sides on Fridays.

T.J. Stone’s
March Madness deals include $4 Michelob Ultra cans, T.J Stone’s pilsner drafts and Founders Brewing Company All Day IPA cans. From the kitchen, the restaurant is offering $6 bacon cheese waffle fries and fried mozzarella as well as $8 buffalo chicken bites and French dip sliders.

Kickoff at Alexandria Sportsman’s Club
The organization is hosting a March Madness kickoff and dinner this Wednesday with Rich Chvotkin, a longtime Georgetown Hoyas radio announcer who will host a Q&A about his 52-year career covering men’s basketball.
