Adoptable Pet of the Week: Leo, a polite and playful fellow

Meet Leo, a sweet dog who’s been spending his days at an area foster home through the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria.

At one year and seven months old, Leo carries the personality of a “polite young gentleman,” an AWLA volunteer wrote. He enjoys going on walks and playing with squeaky toys, and has a good time socializing with other furry friends.

“He is an affectionate fellow once he gets to know you and delights in being around his favorite people,” the volunteer wrote. “Leo is a gentle and treat-motivated personality.”

Leo currently weights 44 pounds, “although he would benefit from gaining some weight in his forever home.” In other words, he’s ready for a home with lots of treats, and more importantly, nutritious food.

The pup is a great candidate for positive-reinforcement training, according to AWLA.

“If this lovely dog sounds like the right fit for your home, contact the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria!”

Leo is currently in foster care, according to AWLA. More information is available on the shelter’s website.
