The Department of Recreation, Parks & Cultural Activities has released its Winter 2026 Program Guide, detailing new seasonal classes, activities and more.
Starting at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, Alexandria residents can sign up for RPCA’s winter programs, which start next month and run through April 2026. Registration for nonresidents opens two days later, on Dec. 19.
From pickleball classes and tournaments to youth cooking lessons, aquatics classes, adult candle making workshops and an empowering “Circle of Girls” club for teens, this winter’s programs span a variety of activities and different interests.
The guide also includes a list of upcoming RPCA events, such as Charles Houston’s 3rd Annual Sneaker Ball on Jan. 2, the Patrick Henry Anime Convention, or PatCon 2026, on Feb. 7, a Galentine’s Day Social on Feb. 13, and a Black History Poetry Slam & Open Mic on Feb. 21.
“Our work is guided by our enhanced purpose: to create meaningful experiences that inspire community, foster creativity, and enhance the quality of life for everyone in Alexandria,” Department Director Hashim T. Taylor wrote in the guide.
Registration is available online and in-person at the Lee Center Registration & Reservation Office at 1109 Jefferson Street. Financial assistance is available for applicants, and more information can be viewed on the city’s website.
