One wounded in Eisenhower West shooting

One person was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after a shooting on Friday in the city’s Eisenhower West neighborhood, police said.

The Alexandria Police Department responded to the 2800 block of Telek Place late Friday evening to investigate the shooting, according to a social media post issued at 11:49 p.m.

Police said the victim was wounded by a known suspect and transported to a hospital. Authorities did not immediately release information about the victim’s condition or whether any arrests had been made.

A large police presence remained at the scene as investigators worked to gather evidence.

The department did not provide additional details about what led to the shooting.
