The City of Alexandria is asking for public feedback on a proposed transit center that will serve as a key transportation hub in the city’s West End.
The new West Alexandria Transit Center will be located on the site of the redeveloped Landmark Mall, which is being transformed into a mixed-use community called WestEnd. The Department of Transportation & Environmental Services (T&ES) is seeking input on conceptual designs for the new facility, according to a press release sent to ALXnow.
Once completed, the transit center will provide a central location for several DASH and Metrobus routes and serve as a transfer point for two future Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridors. The city says that community feedback will help create a “safe, comfortable, and attractive place for riders, visitors, and neighbors to connect.”
Residents can provide their input by reviewing the project webpage and completing an online feedback form. The survey period will close on Sept. 28.
Here’s how to participate:
Review the project webpage.
Complete the online feedback form by September 28.
After the survey period ends, the project team will review the community feedback to help shape the next steps for the transit center’s design. The new transit center is part of a larger plan to improve public transportation options and connectivity throughout Alexandria.
