Alexandria police are conducting a death investigation Saturday morning in the 3500 block of West Braddock Road.
The Alexandria Police Department announced the investigation in a social media post at 8:10 a.m., noting there is a “heavy police presence” in the area.
Police said it is an “active investigation” but emphasized there is “no existing threat” to the public.
Tracy Walker, public information officer for the Alexandria Police Department, provided ALXnow with additional information Saturday morning.
“We are investigating it and at this time appears that the man took his own life,” Walker said.
The department has not released the identity of the deceased.
