The Alexandria Fire Department battled two separate vehicle fires so far this weekend, according to social media updates from Alexandria Firefighters, Inc. IAFF Local 214.
Engine 208 crews extinguished the first vehicle fire on Friday in front of the Home Depot on South Pickett Street, the local firefighters’ union reported on Facebook Saturday evening.
The union also posted photographs of a second incident, stating that Engine 208 on Saturday had also “extinguished an auto fire this afternoon on Duke Street near I-395.”
No information was immediately available regarding potential injuries or the causes of either fire. The Alexandria Fire Department has not yet released additional details about the incidents.
