Cinema Del Ray returns next month with a real crowd pleaser — “Remember The Titans.”

In recognition of the 25th anniversary of the Disney film about the 1971 state champion T.C. Williams High School football team (now Alexandria City High School), it will be shown on the big screen outdoors on Saturday, Sept. 20 , starting at dusk at the Mount Vernon Recreation fields (2701 Commonwealth Avenue).

The story of how coach Herman Boone transformed a newly integrated team of Black and white high school athletes into champions is legendary in Alexandria.

The day before the screening, on Sept. 19, Alexandria City High School will hold a pep rally in recognition of the film’s 25th anniversary.

Cinema Del Ray, which took a break in July and August, is sponsored by the Jen Walker Team.
