More than 2,800 Dominion Energy customers without power across Alexandria

More than 2,800 Dominion Energy customers in Alexandria are experiencing a power outage this evening (July 1).

Severe thunderstorms brought high winds and heavy rain to Alexandria on Tuesday afternoon.

Dominion Energy’s outage map estimates that power should be restored to the 2,831 customers in the outage area between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. Most of the outages (1,989) are located in Old Town.

Dominion Energy serves more than 70,000 customers in Alexandria.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect in Alexandria until 9 p.m. and a Flood Watch until 11 p.m.
