Here’s what’s open and closed in Alexandria on July 4

Alexandria’s government offices will be closed on Friday, July 4, but that doesn’t mean you still can’t have a good time.

Here’s what you need to know about city services on Independence Day.

Old Town Pool (via City of Alexandria)

Open on July 4:

  • Historic Alexandria: The Alexandria Black History Museum, Alexandria History Museum at The Lyceum, Fort Ward Museum and Historic Site, Gadsby’s Tavern Museum, and the Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. All other Historic Alexandria museums will be closed.
  • Recreation and Nature Centers: Old Town Pool, Warwick Pool, and Memorial Pool will be open from 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. All other City of Alexandria recreation facilities and nature centers will be closed.
  • DASH buses will run on a Sunday schedule
  • Emergency Hotlines: All emergency hotlines operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, including the Child Protective Services Hotline at 703.746.5800; the Domestic Violence Hotline at 703.746.4911; the Emergency Mental Health Services or substance use crisis hotline at 703.746.3401; the Adult Protective Services hotline at 703.746.5778 or 988; and the Sexual Assault Hotline at 703.683.7273
