Due to inclement weather, Alexandria’s Department of Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Activities (RPCA) has been forced to cancel Wednesday’s (June 18) Community Cookout at the Patrick Henry Rec. Center (4643 Taney Ave.).
Celebrating its 18th Annual Community Cookout Series, this marks the fourth time this year that RPCA has had to cancel a cookout due to weather. With free food, games, and more, the annual series of cookouts began in late April, aiming to connect residents with their city government and leaders.
There are now just two community cookouts left this season.
“Please be safe today and make sure you come to next week’s cookout at Andrew Adkins at 6 p.m. for an opportunity to connect with neighbors, enjoy free food, games, activities, and giveaways, and learn more about the wide range of services and programs offered by city agencies,” the City of Alexandria shares in a release.
All cookouts run from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
