Early Sunday morning, the Alexandria Police Department (APD) launched a death investigation after finding a man’s body in the street on the 700 block of N. Pitt Street.
The APD shared this information on social media at 4:21 a.m. on April 20.
There is police presence in the 700 block of N. Pitt. APD is conducting a death investigation of a man found deceased in the roadway.
According to an APD spokesperson, “this appears to be suicide at this early stage of the investigation”.
This discovery comes on the heels of a shooting in the city’s West End late Saturday night, where a man was killed in the parking lot of an apartment complex.
