Alexandria offering free tax prep for locals making less than $67k

If you’re an Alexandrian making less than $67,000, you can skip TurboTax this year and get help directly from the City of Alexandria.

Qualifying residents can receive support from  Community Tax Aid, Inc., a non-profit based out of DC that helps to ensure taxpayers apply for all applicable credits and reductions, like the Earned Income Tax Credit and the Child Tax Credit.

“The Department of Community and Human Services is offering free tax preparation services to qualifying individuals who live in the City of Alexandria on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon, and Wednesdays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.” the City said in a release. “February 1 through April 19 at the Del Pepper Community Resource Center (4850 Mark Center Drive).”

There are limited walk-in spots but appointments can be made by calling 202 830 1480 for English or 202 869 2999 for Spanish. Translation services and disability accommodations are available upon request.
