Halal grill replacing AJ’s Pizza and Cheesesteak in Landmark neighborhood

New restaurant Zaytoun Halal Grill has filed for a special use permit to replace AJ’s Pizza and Cheesesteak at 5418 Duke Street.

Owner Mushtaq Habibi told ALXnow the restaurant will offer a menu focused around Mediterranean food.

While public comment for the permit is listed as going until Dec. 19, Habibi told ALXnow the plan is to open on Thursday, Dec. 12.
