Lanes closed after driver takes out traffic pole on Route 1

A crash at the intersection of Potomac Avenue and Richmond Highway had knocked over a traffic signal and reduced traffic on the street to one lane in each direction.

The driver of a white truck struck the pole around 1 p.m.

First responders and Transportation and Environmental Services arrived at the scene. Traffic is currently down to one travel lane in each direction as of 1:20 p.m.

Roads may be more slick than usual today thanks to a light dusting of snow and slush this morning.
