Notes: Alexandria Catholic charity distributes nearly 180 Thanksgiving meals this weekend

Catholic Charities Alexandria Food Pantry hosted a drive thru meal distribution this weekend and gave out 180 Thanksgiving meals to local families.

Meals included produce and desserts along with a chicken or turkey food option. The giveaway was hosted at the organization’s food pantry at 4725 Eisenhower Ave.

According to a release from the organization:

Catholic Charities distributed the meals, including Halal chickens, to clients they serve throughout the year. Clients came by car, bus and some even walked. Catholic Charities works with many Afghan refugees who have resettled in the area. The meals included a chicken or turkey (the clients signed up in advance) as well as other items, including a pie making kit, produce and breads…
