Alexandria Animal Welfare League raises $100,000 at annual pet festival

The Animal Welfare League of Alexandria’s (AWLA) Paws in the Park earlier this month was a huge success, raising over $100,000 for the local animal shelter.

The event on Sunday, Oct. 13, featured 4,000 attendees along with their pets. The event is a free annual event that also serves as the city’s biggest animal adoption event and a huge fundraiser for AWLA.

“We could not have hosted this fabulous event without the support of the event’s sponsorsvendors, and silent auction donors,” AWLA said. “We want to send a special thank you to the volunteers, staff, and attendees that made Paws in the Park 2024 so special. We appreciate everyone who contributed toward its success!”
