The handful of Alexandrians at the Democratic National Convention (and those watching from home) might have recognized a familiar face on the big screen yesterday.

Old Town yarn boutique fibre space‘s owner Danielle Romanetti made an appearance at the Democratic National Convention last night in an ad with other local business owners supporting Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.

“She understands the important role of small businesses and sees business owners not just as the backbone of our economy but key community leaders,” Romanetti said in the video.

Harris visited fibre space and spoke with Romanetti back in 2021 in a meet-up arranged through City Council member John Chapman. It was Harris’ first off-site visit in the role. The pair discussed the second Covid relief bill and the impact on small businesses.

“The last four years have been positive and we’ve experienced growth,” Romanetti said. “I am truly excited to have Kamala Harris as a Presidential candidate.”
