Virginia State Police seeking public assistance with suspicious death on I-395 in Alexandria

Virginia State Police are seeing public assistance in the investigation of a Reston man found in a car on the shoulder of I-395 near the Seminary Road intersection.

In a release, police said the Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation’s Fairfax Field Office is investigating the incident as a suspicious death:

On Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Virginia State Police responded to a call for a medical emergency involving a silver 2005 BMW sedan stopped on the right, northbound shoulder of I-395 at the 4 mile marker near Seminary Rd. When troopers arrived on scene, medical personnel were actively treating one of the vehicle’s occupants and assisting a second individual at the scene. The one individual, a 66-year-old Reston, Va. male, died at the hospital. His remains were transported to the Office of the Medical Examiner for examination and autopsy, which revealed the man died from a severe injury.
